THE driver of a Ford Mondeo which crashed into a HGV on Coach Road in Westbury, killing both men inside was over the legal limit of alcohol, a coroner has ruled.

Two polish men, Marek Adamiak, 42 and Radoslaw Dera, 28 both died at the scene on the A350 on October 28 2018 after attempting to overtake another car on a left hand bend.

At the inquests yesterday it was ruled that the driver, Mr Adamiak had 180 milligrammes of alcohol in his blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrammes.

It was also revealed that the pair were involved in another road traffic collision just moments before for which they failed to stop at the scene.

Coroner David Ridley said: "Both men died at the scene shortly after 4pm on October 28 2018.Mr Adamiak suffered head injuries as a result of a road traffic collision.

"Mr Dera suffered a massive haemorrhage and sustained traumatic head injuries."
