THREE people were arrested near Melksham yesterday on suspicion of a number of offences including possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs.
At around 6am, officers were travelling along the A350 from Melksham towards Semington when they became aware of a vehicle being driven in a suspicious manner.
The driver pulled over and officers approached the vehicle and noticed a strong smell of cannabis.
One man became aggressive when officers attempted to detain him.
A search of the vehicle – a Ford Fiesta – was conducted and a number of items of interest were seized including drugs, cash, mobile phones and scales.
An 18-year-old man from Trowbridge was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A and B drugs.
A 19-year-old man from Bradford-on-Avon was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.
A 20-year-old man from Frome was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.
All have been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
