THE family of a woman who was seriously injured in a fail to stop collision at Standerwick Cross are urging witnesses to come forward.

The collision happened on the A36 at Standerwick Cross at 10am on Wednesday, April 3. Three vehicles were involved and one driver failed to stop.

A woman driver – Polly McRae – was seriously injured in the incident. She was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with life-threatening head injuries, where she remains in a critical but stable condition.

Mrs McRae is well known locally as an advanced nurse practitioner at the Beckington Family Practice. She was driving a red Peugeot 207.

Now her husband and two adult sons are appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward and help the police.

They said: “We’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, especially anyone who may have captured the collision on a dash cam.”

A 35-year-old man arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop at a road traffic collision has been released under investigation.
