HENFORD House care home in Warminster was full of animal mischief when resident Jean Fozard-Harding’s grand-daughter Kim visited with her horse Ronnie.

The 52 residents at the Barchester Healthcare home were pleasantly surprised to see Kim and Ronnie in the garden on Wednesday, March 27.

General manager Karen Sawyer said: “Our residents have really enjoyed their unusual visitor.

“We are so very grateful to Kim for bringing Ronnie to visit her grandmother and the other residents, especially as some find it difficult to go on many outings in our minibus.

“We are always looking for new activities for the residents and today we have seen the enjoyment and the therapeutic influence animals can have on people.”

Resident Doreen was very excited by Ronnie’s visit: “As a child I used to love all the animals on the nearby farm. Today was very enjoyable and it was wonderful to get the opportunity to pet him too.”

Henford House care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, which is committed to delivering personalised care across its care homes and hospitals.

The home provides residential care and nursing care for 52 residents from respite care to long term stays.
