POLICE are trying to identify a man who they would like to speak to after he potentially prevented an assault from taking place in Trowbridge.

Between 12.30pm and 12.45pm on March 30, a 26-year-old woman was approached by two other women as she walked in Market Street between Mastershoe and Castle Place Shopping Centre.

The women shouted at the victim in a threatening manner, before one of them attempted to grab the victim but a man who was nearby intervened and prevented the victim from being assaulted.
