THREE people escaped serious injury following a crash at Southwick last night when a Peugeot 307 left the road.
The car crashed through trees at the side of road with such force the engine was ripped out of the vehicle.
Two women and a man, all local, were treated for minor injuries by paramedics from the South Western Ambulance Service who attended the accident scene.
The crash happened at a well-known accident blackspot – a right hand bend at the entrance to the village close to the Southwick Country Park.
The vehicle was travelling along the A361 Frome Road towards Frome. Traffic police closed the road following the crash while the vehicle was recovered.
