Manor plans
AVEBURY: The National Trust have asked planners for permission to relocate roof lights at the barn cafe at The Manor House, to put in a new staircase, new toilets and voids to the first floor eatery.
A4 resurfacing
MARLBOROUGH: There will be overnight temporary road closures on A4 Bath Road from the junction with the High Street (Marlborough College) to 150m west of the junction with Downs Lane, Manton, between 7pm-6am until 31 May on weekdays.
Battle plans
MARLBOROUGH: Marlborough Town Council are seeking sponsors for The Battle of Marlborough event on July 27-28. The living history weekend involves a pitched Battle from the English Civil War and a 17th century encampment.
Inspirational Jebb
MARLBOROUGH: St Peter's Church is the venue for a talk on Eglantyne Jebb, the founder of Save The Children. Her biographer Clare Mulley will speak on Thursday, May 16 at 7.30pm.
Call boxes
MARLBOROUGH: The town council is to look after the four remaining BT call boxes. One will be retained as a phone box while the others will be ornamental displays.
