CLASSIC and vintage cars took to the roads for their annual Drive-It day from Bradford on Avon to the Cotswolds on Sunday.
The day saw 14 pre-war cars from clubs around the country, including one which had been brought out of the garages for the first time in generations.
Co-organiser Steve Knight brought his recently restored Morris 8 out for her first run in 64 years.
The Series 1 Morris 8 Tourer, which dates from 1935, was discovered abandoned and unloved in a stone shed back in 2016, and bought by Mr Knight who restored her.
He said: “This was quite a test for the car.
“But I was delighted with the way she performed and have every confidence in driving her for a good many years to come.”
A Morris Register has been formed to promote interest and enthusiasm in all Morris vehicles designed before 1940. Anyone who owns a pre-1940’s Morris and wants to learn more should email jeremy.matthews@live.co.uk
