A WOMAN driver in her 50s was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with arm and chest injuries after a collision at Broughton Gifford on Sunday April 28.
The crash occurred at the Challeymead junction of the B3107 Bradford on Avon Road with the lane to Broughton Gifford at 8.40am. It involved a blue Volkswagen Passat and a purple Peugeot.
Fire service crews from Melksham, Trowbridge and Chippenham have attended the accident. The crews released the woman from the Peugeot using hydraulic cutting equipment.
A South Western Ambulance Service Trust spokesman said: “We were called on Sunday at 8.41am about a road traffic incident in the area of Broughton Gifford. We sent various resources to the scene, including an air ambulance.”
The woman was taken to Southmead by land ambulance. She is now in a stable condition but remains in hospital.
The man was unhurt.
