A FAMILY from Surrey became the first to play the nine-hole mini golf course in Warminster’s Lake Pleasure Grounds after it was re-opened for the summer.
The Tong family from Godalming - dad Rob, son Freddie, seven, and daughter Gracie, five - were visiting mum Laura’s parents, Pat and Graham Tazewell, for the weekend.
Rob said: “The children had played crazy golf during a recent holiday on the Isle of Wight, so we took them down to the park.
“We were honoured to discover that we were the first players on the mini golf course this year.”
The children had been inspired by watching American professional golfer Tiger Woods’ dramatic comeback in the recent US Masters.
While grandmother Pat sat watching, Freddie and Gracie managed to completely outplay Rob and his father-in-law. Laura was off shopping.
Rob added: “The children want to come back and are hoping to get a hole in one next time.”
