A MAN has been jailed for 14 months following a violent attack in Trowbridge town centre.

Kieran Ramsey, 24, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to two counts of common assault and one count of grievous bodily harm, when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court on May 3.

On November 18 2018, Ramsey was out drinking with friends when he assaulted three men, causing one of them to sustain serious facial injuries.

The victim, a 30-year-old man from the Trowbridge area required specialist medical attention and surgery to his injuries.

Det Con Aaron Rowe said: “This was a violent attack, which left Ramsey's victim suffering with serious facial injuries including multiple fractures which required several hospital visits.

“The impact of this kind of incident on an individual doesn’t just stop at the physical injuries, but it can also impact on their family and how they go about their daily life.

“Violence of this nature will not be tolerated and I am pleased that this individual has been given a custodial sentence to reflect the seriousness of his actions.”

As well as the prison sentence, Ramsey must also pay a victim surcharge of £140.
