TROWBRIDGE’S Chris Oliver notched up four podium finishes at the third round of the NG Road Race Championships held at Donington Park.

On board his Garage-backed Yamaha 1000cc R1, Oliver’s best result of the weekend was first place in the Newcomers1300cc Open race.

He led from start to finish and also set the fastest lap of in a time of 1min 18.57secs and a speed of 88.34mph.

Oliver currently leads this championship by 21 points from second-placed Antony Stroud.

Oliver also competed in the three Metzeler 1300cc Streetstock races and notched up second place in his first race.

In his second race, he led from the start before duelling with Jon Wright for the lead. Both riders nearly touched a few times, with Wright eventually taking victory ahead of Oliver in second.

The Trowbridge rider followed this up with third in the third race and is currently in second in this championship, just seven points behind championship leader Jason Hill.

Devizes’ Daniel Squires also competed in three Metzeler 1300cc Streetstock races, claiming a pair of seventh places and a 10th riding his Kawasaki ZX10 R.
