A company which used a fake charity number to get discounted rates to rent the Main Hall from Westbury Town Council for children's classes has been reported to Trading Standards.

Debts of £20.60 were written off after not being paid, despite attempts to contact the company. Mayor Mike Sutton said there was “longstanding debt not worth chasing” by a company not registered with the Charity Commission. The council did not name the group but has since reported it to trading standards and warned local towns and parish councils.
