VOLUNTEER community litter pickers have collected six large bags of rubbish after scouring parts of Warminster town centre.

The volunteers went out on Saturday, May 11, to collect litter as part of the Keep Britain Tidy Great British Spring Clean up for the town.

The clean up was organised by Warminster Town Council.

Spokeswoman Sally Ward said: “Thank you volunteer community litter pickers.

“We collected six bags of rubbish. Thank you team. Great work!”

A small group of six community litter pickers met at St John’s Church on the Boreham Road before going out to collect litter from pavements, verges and hedgerows.

They covered the Boreham Road, Woodcock Road and Rock Lane areas.

The council has not yet decided whether to repeat the exercise next month.

Look out for future dates on the council’s Facebook page or the Warminster Town Council website.
