BRADFORD on Avon’s Dementia Action Alliance held it’s party in the park on Saturday (May 25) as part of Dementia Action week.
Local business and organisations manned stalls and there was Zumba demonstrations, Punch and Judy shows, music and dancing as well as refreshments.
Mayor of Bradford on Avon cllr Simon McNeill-Ritchie opened the event.
He said: “ Every three minutes someone in the UK develops dementia.
“Many of us know family members, friends and others suffering from this awful disease.
“So the Bradford on Avon Dementia Action Alliance has organised this splendid party in the park to raise awareness of dementia.
“We would like to thank BoA Dementia Alliance for organising this event, everyone involved and all the volunteers who have made the party in the park possible. Also thank you to the people who donated raffle prizes.
“Music and laughter are ways to enhance the lives of people with dementia, so please enjoy the day.”
