CROWDS of over 3,500 people attended the first ever Bradford on Avon Food and Drink Festival on Saturday.

Victory Field was packed with over 100 food and drink producers with everything from artisan cheese, and chocolate to locally brewed beer and street-food.

A line-up of local chefs and TV favourites brought summer dishes to life on the Magimix Demo Stage.

The festival was supported by a host of sponsors including Bradford on Avon Town Council and tourism and events officer Steph Shearing supported the event.

Visitors enjoyed live music at the Pop-Up Pub, which drew the crowds with a mix of acoustic and folk from local singers and songwriters. The Bathampton Morris Men picked up the tempo and got everybody involved.

Activities including garden games and pottery painting kept children entertained and there were many four-legged visitors who loved showing off at the fun Dog Show.

Co-organiser Lotte Duncan said: "Coupled with the fabulous weather, the festival brought a very happy atmosphere to our beautiful town.

"A huge thank you to all of our chefs including our brilliant compare Simon Brown, and of course our headline sponsor Magimix who spent the day engaging with visitors and launched their brand new product - Cook Expert - at the event.

"Seeing lots of happy faces enjoying the festival made it all worthwhile, and the event has received spectacular feedback from visitors and exhibitors alike.

"We can’t wait to return next year - we’re already on the look-out for producers and sponsors for

2020 so please do get in touch."
