A TROWBRIDGE charity working to relieve childhood poverty had a good response from the public to its latest appeal.
Customers were asked to fill a rucksack with everyday essential items for young people to use to keep themselves clean and tidy.
They dropped them off on Saturday at the community room at the Tesco supermarket in County Way.
The initiative was organised by Trowbridge-based ruksak45218 which is working to relieve childhood poverty.
Founder Rory Donaldson said: “We were really pleased with the response from people.
“We had three of four bags of toiletries donated, as well as gloves, hats, scarves and other items.”
Ruksak45218 aims to provide youngsters in need with fresh bedding, clothes, sports gear and sports equipment.
It also needs toiletries, washing detergents, school stationery, old laptops and tablets, books and GCSE revision guides which it can pass on.
