TWO people were taken to hospital after a head-on crash blocked the A361 at Semington on Thursday.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Services said the collision involved two vehicles but no-one was trapped.

The accident happened at 5.41pm just off the A361 near the Semington roundabout.

The A361 and High Street, Semington, were closed after a red Citroen Berlingo van and a blue Ford Zetec crashed head on. Both vehicles were badly damaged.

A man, along with his son, were in the van and taken to hospital by ambulance. It is not known how badly they were hurt. A woman in the Ford Zetec didn’t suffer serious injury.

The Wiltshire Air Ambulance was called to the scene but was not used.

Police arranged for Wiltshire Council to attend the accident as the road was covered in oil and was closed for some time.

The fire crew from Trowbridge assisted with scene safety.
