STAFF at a Trowbridge beauty products company have been finding out more about the Freewheelers blood bike charity and blood donation.
Three of the charity’s bike riders visited Meiyume on the White Horse Business Park to help raise funds for the charity.
The visit took place last Friday on World Blood Donor Day. Every year on June 14, countries worldwide celebrate the event to encourage blood donation.
Sarah Morgan, of Meiyume, said: “We are trying to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products, and to thank blood donors for their voluntary, life-saving gifts of blood.”
The company’s 680 staff were encouraged to meet the three riders, Peter Clucas, Patrick Rule and Tim Pembridge, who are among the 60 volunteer bikers covering the Somerset, Bath, Bristol and West Wiltshire area.
The Freewheelers deliver blood and tissue samples to and from four hospitals in Bath, Bristol and Taunton.
