Farm buildings were badly damaged by a fire on Saturday as hay bales went up in flames.

Police said they were investigating the incident of arson which occurred in Netheravon at the weekend. 

Officers were called to a farm in Wexland Avenue by the fire service at approximately 7.30am on Saturday 22 June.

Approximately 50 hay bales had been set on fire and the fire had spread to the barn structure causing significant damage. It is believed the fire was started deliberately.

Fortunately nobody was injured. 

Police said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the Netheravon area during Saturday morning. Anyone with information should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54190060188. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
