THE body of a man which was found in woodland near Yarnbrook yesterday has been identified as missing man Michael Poulton.

Police officers have confirmed that formal identification has taken place.

Mr Poulton, aged 60, from the Wilton area, was reported missing on Saturday evening and police issued a public appeal to help officers locate him yesterday morning.

A police spokesman said: "Our thoughts remain with Mr Poulton’s family at this time who are being supported by specially trained officers.

"At this stage, this is being treated as a sudden, non-suspicious death and a report will now be prepared for the coroner.

"As Mr Poulton had been in contact with Wiltshire Police prior to his death, this matter has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC)."
