STAFF at the Specsavers store in Warminster are hosting a family fundraising day for the British charity Help for Heroes in commemoration of National Armed Forces Day.

Specsavers on Three Horseshoes Walk is inviting local customers of the garrison town to join the store's team in raising money for the UK armed forces charity.

An under 16 quiz will be held for both teenagers and children, with a game of tanks (similar to the childhood classic, Battleships) hosted for the adults.

There is a small entry fee of £2 and all proceeds will go towards helping service personnel.

Staff are encouraging people to visit the store to purchase the quiz and battleships before Armed Forces Day. The winners will be announced on the day and will receive a prize for their efforts.

Store director, Richard Goring said: "We’re hoping to raise lots of money for the charity."

Help for Heroes is a UK-based charity that helps individuals with injuries and illnesses caused by their service in the British Armed Forces.

The non-profit organisation offers a wide range of courses and activities that empower individuals to reach their potential and regain their purpose.

To join the team and make a donation, pop into Specsavers before Saturday, June 29.
