How to protect yourself from burglaries this summer
WARNINGS have been issued by police on how to stay safe in the hot weather whilst being vigilant about burglaries.
Officers have warned people to be aware of leaving doors and windows open whilst in another area of your house or garden.
A spokesman said: "It only takes a couple of seconds for someone to sneak in. The same goes for sheds and garages, when using equipment please close the doors so your tools are not on display and lock them away when not in use."
