A WOMAN has died following a crash on the A36.

The victim, who Wiltshire Police has confirmed was aged in her 20s, died after her Fiat Panda collided with a lorry near Little Wishford.

Now the force is appealing for witnesses to the incident, which occurred just after 2.55pm this afternoon.

A spokesperson said: "We're appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision on the A36 earlier today.

"A two vehicle collision took place at 2.55pm at Little Wishford involving a Fiat Panda and a lorry.

"Sadly, the driver of the Fiat, a woman in her 20s from the Bournemouth area, died as a result of the collision.

"Our thoughts are with her family at this tragic time."

They added: "Police, fire and ambulance were called to the scene and the road was closed between Stapleford and Wiltonfor almost seven hours.

"Anyone who witnessed the collision should call us on 101 and quote log 219 of today."
