A TEEN drug dealer who sobbed as he was jailed has been labelled a key player in Swindon's crack and heroin trade.

Jacob Wyness, 18, was sentenced to 26 months imprisonment for dealing class A drugs in the town.

As reported in today's Adver, Wyness cried and asked to see his mother as he was jailed at Swindon Crown Court. Judge Jason Taylor QC said: “If you swim with sharks you can hardly be surprised if you get bitten.”

Reacting to the sentence, PC Matt Harvey of Wiltshire Police said: “I’m pleased a custodial sentence has been handed to Wyness – he was a key player in the supply of class A drugs to vulnerable users within our communities. As part of our enquiries we found a substantial amount of messages on his phone which linked Wyness to a number of drug users in the town.

“Drug activity is simply unacceptable and we will continue to target individuals like Wyness who bring class A drugs to our streets.”
