THIS year, for the first time, The Chapterhouse Theatre Company come to Manor Farm at Corsley to perform Pride and Prejudice.
Appearing on Saturday August 3 in the grounds of the historic manor in Corsley, the audience will be taken a step back in time to meet Elizabeth Bennet, Jane Austen’s well-loved heroine.
When Elizabeth meets the terse and abrupt Mr Fitzwilliam Darcy, she loathes him at first sight. But is there more to him than meets the eye?
Brought to life by award-winning writer Laura Turner, this adaptation has been a favourite of Chapterhouse audiences for years and is being performed in the company’s 20th year of touring.
Claire Da Costa, of Manor Farm, said: "Our audience has grown over the 17 years and we now draw from Bath, Salisbury and other cities and towns in a wide area and last year sold out at nearly 500. In that time, we have donated over £50,000 to national and local causes.
"Join friends and family for an evening of theatre beneath the stars, basking in the glow of this timeless classic."
Gardens open at 5.30pm and pre-booked sit down suppers are served between 6-7pm, with the performance beginning at 7.30pm. Picnics are welcome and there is a licensed bar and refreshments served in the interval.
