ANXIOUS parents in Westbury are urging the town's boy racers to stop speeding before someone gets hurt or killed.

The call comes mothers who are concerned that children playing or crossing the road could be seriously injured by drivers speeding along residential roads and streets.

Residents are asking police to do something to stop the activities, saying it's only a matter of time before someone gets hurt.

Posting on a local social media website, one mother said: "To the absolute idiots that constantly wheelspin into and out of Kingfisher Drive, will you just stop!

"I'm sick and tired of not only the noise, but the speed too! Children cross that road, my children included.

"How about you take a minute and think of what your ridiculous and pathetic actions could cause."

Another resident, Deborah Trevarthen, added: "Same down and up Storridge Road, it's a 30mph but most drivers go up and down it as if they're on a race track.

"I knew when I moved here the road was always going to be busy but I didn't expect the speeding.

"I take my life in my hand getting in and out of my drive daily. The people that live on this road have kids and pets, it's only a matter of time before something happens."

Deb Samways said drivers were also speeding in Meadow Lane and Station Road after leaving a local gym.
