THE Lake Pleasure Grounds paddling pool in Warminster is to be closed for three days in August to allow essential maintenance to take place.
The pool is now 72 years old and coming to the end of its life span. It will be shut from August 5-7.
Warminster town councillor Sue Fraser, chairman of the Devolved Services and Assets Committee, said: “I know some people will be disappointed that the pool won’t be open for a few days, but, we want to keep the pool open throughout the summer and that means that occasionally we will have to close it to make repairs.
“The Town Council has agreed to look at the possibility of building a new paddling pool for next year and has already appointed a project manager to investigate the options.”
She said there are other activities in the park for people to enjoy, including boating on the lake, tennis courts, play area, trim trail, putting green, tree trail and the multi-use games area.
People can also enjoy a cool drink, ice cream, or snack, or just take a quiet stroll.
