RENEWED plans to build 200 homes on Storridge Road in Westbury have been submitted, one year after the controversial bid was turned down.

Gladman Developments Ltd want to demolish two houses that back onto farmland earmarked for the new homes and say the development will create jobs and boost the local economy.

Planning officers rejected an application on the site last year, after 120 letters were sent in by residents over the application.

However Cllr Carole King represents the area and said: "I can't see many changes in this application compared to the one that was turned down last year for a number of substantial reasons.

"The Core Strategy has not changed and 200 homes is still far too many.I encourage people to have their say on the proposal whether in support or against."
