POLICE officer Lian Dunwell and her partner Sarah Watts are to take part in a charity hike to raise money in memory of their friend who died in a car accident and a charity that is supporting her family.
Insp Dunwell and Ms Watts, who live in Devizes, will be completing 65kms of trekking through the Columbian jungle to raise money for Winston’s Wish.
They hope to complete the challenge on what would have been the 43rd birthday of their friend Kerry Sargent who died in New Zealand in 2018 leaving her behind her wife Julie and two young children Ben and Olivia.
Insp Dunwell said: “Ben and Olivia are two lovely children who were involved in the tragic car accident in which their mum Kerry was killed and their other mum Julie Sargent was seriously injured.
“A vehicle travelling in the opposite direction crossed over the central line. and collided with Kerry and Jules’ car.
“Kerry was a caring wife, a supportive mum, an amazing friend and colleague. She was also a very special friend to Sarah and I.” To support them go to https://www.justgiving.com/Kerry-Sargent?
