STEAM enthusiasts were out in force across west Wiltshire on Sunday for the last sighting this season of the Torbay Express, a steam-hailed excursion which runs frequently throughout the summer from Bristol to the seaside resort.
The route takes the train through Wiltshire, passing through Bradford on Avon, Trowbridge and Westbury to Kingswear in Devon.
Three keen local photographers, Stephen Moore, David Huntley and Dave Taverner, sent in these images, and also supplied some interesting information about the Gresley ex LNER A4 Pacific 60009 Union of South Africa which hauled the train: it is the last time this locomotive will be seen on the mainline as its boiler certificate runs out.
