CHILDREN from local schools are being invited to help plant 5,000 trees at the Avoncliff Woods.
The Woodland Trust is planning a tree planting day at Avoncliff Wood as part of the Big Climate Fightback.
The event on Saturday, November 30 from 10am to 3pm is free but booking is essential.
People wishing to take part are being urged to reserve a place at the morning or afternoon planting sessions.
Woodland Trust said: "We aim to plant over 5,000 new trees at Avoncliff Wood, with the help of local schools, partners and the community.
"No previous tree planting experience is necessary. Please bring gloves and a spade if you are able to. We will have some spare spades."
There is very little car parking available, so attendees are being urged to walk, come by bike or boat, or use public transport.
