FORMER CCTV company workers who illegally watched the autopsy of footballer Emiliano Sala will be sentenced at Swindon Crown Court today.

Sherry Bray and Christopher Ashford worked for Chippenham-based Camera Security Services when they screened the post-mortem of the 28-year-old footballer on February 7.

Mr Sala died when the plane in which he was travelling crashed into the English Channel a fortnight before.

The case had been due to be sentenced on Friday.

However, Judge Peter Crabtree adjourned the case to Monday afternoon, telling the two defendants he wanted the weekend to consider the sentence.

Bray, 49, of Charles Street, Corsham, admitted three counts under the Computer Misuse Act and a charge of perverting the course of justice by instructing Ashford to “delete your pics”, deleting images herself and deleting footage from CSS’s systems.

Ashford, 62, of Page Close, Calne, pleaded guilty to breaking the Computer Misuse Act, using the video playback facility to view the post-mortem.
