PLANS to protect one of Bradford on Avon's historic buildings from damage by passing traffic have been refused by Wiltshire Council.
Planners have denied permission for the owner of the Swan Hotel to install blackboard-style fascia signs.
James Sullivan-Tailyour wanted to insert them into a side shopfront to protect the building from traffic using a narrow section of road between Market Street and Silver Street.
Mr Sullivan-Tailyour said he had consulted with the Bradford on Avon Preservation Trust and Bradford on Avon Town Council which were both happy with the scheme.
