Westbury Town councillor Ian Cunningham has signed the lease for the Westbury Community Project’s new building.
The project is leasing the building off Eden Vale Road from Wiltshire Council which has pledged its support.
Sarah Barker, from Westbury Town Council, handed over a £3,050.21 cheque to Richard Hatt, chairman of the Westbury Community Project Trust to help with their funding.
The money was raised by the council and last year's mayor. Cllr Ian Cunningham, as part of the mayor's charity.
The handover of the building on a 125-year lease and the cheque presentation took place at the Westbury Junior School.
Cllr Cunningham said they hope the former Westbury Youth Centre will become a focal point for the local community.
"We are hoping to provide a community cafe, IT training to help people get jobs and a home for children's services and various other groups and organisations," he said.
