A woman motorcyclist was taken to the Southmead Hospital in Bristol with serious injuries following a crash in Trowbridge on Wednesday evening.
Police said they were called at 7.50pm to a collision between a car and a motorcycle outside the Trowbridge fire station on the A361 Hilperton Road.
The motorcyclist, a woman in her 40s, suffered a serious head injury and was taken to Southmead Hospital.
The male driver of the car, which was a Skoda Octavia, was not injured.
The road was closed for around five hours while emergency crews dealt with the incident.
Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash, or anyone who has dash cam footage to get in touch.
