POLICE have issued footage of a man wanted in connection with a suspected acid attack in Culcheth.

A group of teenagers had an unknown substance thrown in their faces near to the Sainsbury’s store on Common Lane shortly after 9.30pm on Friday, October 11.

Some of the teens were taken to hospital, but have all since been discharged having suffered no serious injuries.

They were attacked by an unknown male, who has not yet been located by police.

And officers have now issued a picture of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.

He is described as being white and aged in his late 40s or 50s with greying hair, and was wearing a black puffer jacket.

Sergeant Neil Bradley said: “I would like to reassure the community that this is believed to have been an isolated incident.

“Thankfully none of the teenagers sustained any serious injuries as a result of the incident and enquiries are ongoing to establish exactly took place.

“We believe that the man in the image may have vital information to help with our enquiries.

“I would also like to appeal directly to the man in the image to get in touch.”
