A SPECIAL edition Trowbridge poppy has been launched by the Royal British Legion ahead of this year's poppy appeal to mark the 75th anniversary of D-Day.
The badges are specific to the town and say "Trowbridge Remembers" around a poppy head.
Roy Zaman, chairman of the Trowbridge branch of the Royal British Legion said: "We have never launched a special Trowbridge poppy before, these are a real one off for this year only.
"We usually sell around 30,000 poppies in Trowbridge alone, but we only have 1000 of these, so we are expecting them to be very popular."
Trowbridge town mayor Councillor David Cavill said: "I am absolutely thrilled to be involved in the launch of these new beautiful special edition Trowbridge poppy badges, of which they are very few. Once they're gone they’re gone."
The badges are now on sale for a donation of £5 and are available at Asda, Tesco, Sainsburys, Castle Place and The Shires in Trowbridge.
