LONGLEAT’s Emma, Viscountess Weymouth and her professional partner Aljaž Škorjanec made a stunning Strictly 2019 comeback to finish in third place on the leaderboard after Saturday night’s high drama.

The judges were full of praise for the couple’s “beautiful” Viennese Waltz to Witney Houston’s ‘Saving All My Love For You’.

Head judge Shirley Ballas said the Viscountess had made an “absolutely miraculous recovery” after surviving last week’s dance-off.

Motsi Mabuse told the couple: “I am so happy for you. That was so beautiful”, while Shirley commented: “You must have worked hard on your frame from last week. I’ve never seen such an improvement in one week.”

US Dancing with the Stars judge Alfonso Ribeiro, standing in for Bruno Tonioli, said: “You must have worked so hard this week. You have gone from the darkness to the light. Sometimes you just need that little push. It was brilliant.”

Craig Revel Horwood said: “You have worked wonders. It was fantastic. That dance just proves why you are still in this competition.”

Last week, the 33-year-old model and chef and Aljaž ended up in the dance-off after dancing a Jive to Kids in America by Kim Wilde.

But the judges eliminated the other dance-off couple, BBC Radio 1 DJ Dev Griffin and his pro-partner Dianne Buswell.

This week, they were in third spot behind Saffron Barker and her pro-partner AJ Pritchard on 38 points, and Karim Zeroual and and Amy Dowden on 36 points.

Former England goalkeeper David James became the fourth celebrity to be eliminated from the competition in Sunday night's show.

David and his pro-partner Nadiya Bychkova had finished bottom of the leaderboard with 16 points.

They competed in the dance-off against BBC sports presenter Mike Bushell and his pro-partner Katya Jones on 21 points.

The vote to eliminate David and Nadiya was unanimous.
