FAMILIES dared to take a ride on a model ghost train this week as the West Wiltshire Society of Model Engineers held their steam and scare event.
The group held their rides on the miniature railway at the White Horse Country Park.
David Clarke, of West Wilts Society of Model Engineers said: “This was the the first time this event was run.
“Hard work put in by members resulted in a spectacular show of haunting sound, lights and ghosts, with live steam locomotives, there was even ghost train appearing in the tunnel.
“The visitors had great time with seasonal refreshments being served.”
The club meets weekly through out the year and makes models of buildings, boats and steam and diesel powered miniature railways.
The group’s next event will be train rides to see Father Christmas on December 7 from 2-5pm.
