VISITORS have been banned from a house in Chippenham in an attempt to prevent drug dealing and anti-social behaviour.

The order was granted by magistrates in Salisbury on Monday for a house on Charter Road and will remain in place for three months. The order stops anyone but the occupant from being inside the address.

If anyone else enters the home they will be committing an offence and may be arrested.

PC Ashleigh Bray, the community coordinator for the local area, said: “It is hoped that this closure order will protect the occupant from being exploited by visitors to the address who may be involved in illegal drug activity.

“It will also help protect the local community from any anti-social behaviour associated with the property.

"I hope this provides them with reassurance that we will listen to concerns and we will take action.

“We will continue to patrol the area regularly and anyone not permitted to be in the address will be dealt with robustly.”
