WORK has started to transform the former Margaret Stancomb school site in Trowbridge into new homes.

Selwood Housing celebrated the start of works with an event attended by board members Stella Shepherd, Richard Yates and town councillor Steve Oldrieve.

The work will see the former school building turned into three shared ownership homes, along with an additional 18 homes for shared ownership and social rent.

Paul Walsh, Selwood Housing Group development director said: “We’re pleased with the progress which has already been made by our contractor E G Carter. The temporary buildings situated around the site have now been cleared, and the important work to transform the former old school building has started.”
