FOREST & Sandridge Church of England Primary School has become one of just 34 schools in the UK to receive an award that recognises outstanding religious education.
The Melksham-based school received the gold Religious Education Quality Mark after a visit by inspectors from the Religious Education Council of England and Wales.
The award recognises, celebrates, and publicises outstanding religious education in all primary and secondary schools in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and the gold award is the highest possible rating.
Tiffany Butcher, RE subject lead at Forest & Sandridge, said: “To be given the highest possible distinction for the standard of our religious education is a real honour.
“We do our best to make sure the lessons our children learn and the ideas they are invited to think about within RE enrich and bring meaning to the learning they do throughout their time at Forest & Sandridge.
“I’d like to say a big thank you to all the staff and children for continuing to give their best and embody the school’s values of courage, compassion, respect, and humility every day.”
The school will be holding an open morning on Monday, November 25, with parents and children invited to attend between 9.30am and 11.30am.
