BARNARDO's charity shops are encouraging people to pick up the perfect present while supporting vulnerable children this Christmas.

Local Barnardo’s stores across Wiltshire are displaying their latest collection of seasonal gifts.

Profits support the charity’s work with some of the UK’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people.

Barnardo’s area business manager Sarah Poynter said: “We’ve just received a wonderful collection of potential gifts which are sure to brighten a child’s face on Christmas morning."

“Items include indoor and outdoor play-mats, plus pirate boats, play-dough, slime putty, kaleidoscopes, balloon modelling kits and assorted toy dinosaurs.

“We also have wrapping paper, diaries, decorations, stockings, greeting cards, gift-tags, calendars, bows and bags.

“There are also plenty of other festive treats including Christmas-themed socks, scented candles, bath fizzers and hand soaps.

“There’s something for everyone – and the best thing is that every purchase helps to support the charity’s life-changing work with young carers, care-leavers, victims of abuse and exploitation, and other vulnerable groups.”

In Wiltshire, the charity has stores in Swindon, Chippenham, Devizes, Melksham, Westbury, Warminster, Amesbury and Salisbury.

Last year Barnardo’s supported nearly 300,000 children, young people, parents and carers.
