A Wiltshire Air Ambulance ‘ground crew’ fundraiser has presented a £1,130 cheque to the emergency medical charity.

Anne Hooper presented the bumper amount to WAA pilot Rob Backus, paramedic Fred Thompson, and the charity’s community relationship manager Cas Loudon on Wednesday.

Ms Hooper raised the funds from a fun dog show at the Springfield Recreation Ground in Corsham on August 4 which was sponsored by Gompels Healthcare of Melksham.

She said: “I am ecstatic with the amount we raised. We had more than 70 dogs turn up with their owners to take part in the show.

“Next year, it is the 30th anniversary of Wiltshire Air Ambulance and I am hoping that our fun dog show will be bigger and better than ever.

“I would like to thank everyone who came and took part and supported us on the day, including my sister Julia Hooper-Fudge who flew over from Spain to judge the dogs.”

Cas Loudon said: “We are extremely grateful to Anne for all her hard work and organisation of the dog show.

“Without her help and support we would not be able to keep the helicopter emergency medical service going to help save lives.”

Maisie Fidler, a customer service advisor from Gompels Healthcare, which sponsored the fun dog show, also attended the presentation at the Wiltshire Air Ambulance new airbase at Outmarsh, Semington.

Next year’s fun dog show for the charity will take place on Saturday, August 1 in Corsham.
