TWO men have been charged after an aggravated burglary this week.

Lee Fitchett and Callum Sherry are suspected to have broken into a house on Sheppard Street on Tuesday, November 19 at around 3.30am.

Officers seized an axe, body armour, an imitation firearm, a knuckle duster, cash and several mobile phones from a Volkswagen Passat after arresting three men.

Fitchett has been charged with aggravated burglary, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, possession of an offensive weapon, failing to provide a specimen, using a vehicle without insurance.

The 37-year-old man from Swindon has been remanded in custody and is due at Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Sherry, 30, of Spruce Court, Pinehurst, has been charged with aggravated burglary assault by beating of an emergency worker, common assault of an emergency worker and criminal damage.
He has also been remanded and is due in court today. 

A third person arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, possession of a class A drug, possession of an imitation firearm in a public place and possession of an offensive weapon has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
