THE overall winner of the Westbury mayor’s Christmas card design competition is to switch on the town’s Christmas lights on Saturday November 30.
Oscar Bailey, 7, a pupil at Bitham Brook Primary School, was the winner of the 6-8 years category.
His winning entry was selected by Westbury mayor, Cllr Mike Sutton, to be the design for the town council’s official Christmas card.
The other two winners were Skyler Hewitt, from Westbury Infants School, who won the 3-5 years category, and Izzabella Carpenter, of Westbury Junior School, who won the 9-11 years category.
Cllr Sutton said: “We had 35 entries, all of a high quality, and it was an agonising decision to select the winners.”
Each winner will receive a £25 voucher and Oscar will get to switch on the Westbury Christmas lights
display at 6.30pm in the Market Place, at the climax of a day-long event featuring live entertainment and other activities.
