AN author from Bradford on Avon is one of 10 which have been highly commended in this year's Bridport Prize short story competition.
Jimmy Lowther's story Salva Nos was selected from over 3,700 entries by judge Kirsty Logan.
Mr Lowther has lived in Wiltshire since 1991.
He recently retired from a career in the NHS. Before entering the nursing profession he had been a tractor driver, a binman and a soldier. He studied English at Bath Spa University College and completed a MA at Manchester University. His poems have been published in various magazines including Envoi, Reach, and The Journal as well as by the BANES council.
