A FITNESS group in Trowbridge have made a generous donation to the Storehouse food bank in Trowbridge ahead of their busiest time of year.
Tins, toiletries, chocolate and more were collected at FLexcercise classes in Steeple Ashton and Hilperton as part of the Fitness for Food initiative hosted by the Community Fitness Network.
Class instructor Julie Reid said: "I was very keen to support the food bank as I used to work for adult social care and speak to many people, young and old, on the telephone who were needing the support of the food banks.
"I found this so saddening and shocking in our county in this day and age. I also have a lady who attends a couple of my classes who has to rely on support form the Trowbridge Food Bank.
"I no longer charge her to come to my sessions as she says that it really helps her, both physically and mentally and they are her only form of social life. You have to help people out."
