A BRIGHT but cold day saw 20 members of Westbury Walkers set off from Lacock on a nine-mile walk led by Pippa Clarke.

After crossing the bridge and ford they turned right to walk to Reybridge.

The route took them over the swollen River Avon, to the Wilts & Berks Canal towpath to disused locks, crossing a narrow bridge to open fields before joining a farm track leading to a road parallel to the A4.

A turn right onto the public footpath of Nocketts Hill took them up this steep hill before turning off right to footpaths across open fields to a farm track.

Continuing up the hill they turned left on to a lane and then right on to a track leading toward Spye Park. Skirting the park boundary and crossing the common, the walkers turned right to Bewley Crescent and back towards Reybridge and Lacock.
